Ep 425 – The Receiving Tax: Why You Can’t Hold the More You’re Asking For

Ep 425 – The Receiving Tax: Why You Can’t Hold the More You’re Asking For
The work is not to chase a bigger ocean. The ocean is already there. The work is to become a bigger vessel.
Dr. Darnyelle
Episode description

This is the 5th   part of the Hidden Taxes That Are Costing Your Millions Series
This episode is powered by The Ascension Archetype Quiz.

Maybe you don't need more. Maybe you need the capacity to hold more. You've been praying for more money, asking for more support, working for more clients and believing for more ease, while assuming the reason it hasn't arrived is that you haven't done enough yet. But what if the supply isn't the problem? What if you're standing in front of an ocean of everything you've asked for holding a teacup and wondering why abundance won't stay? Because giving got you here. Receiving determines how much of what comes next you'll actually be able to hold. And if you're phenomenal at pouring into everyone else but uncomfortable letting money, support, recognition, rest, ease or love pour back into you, your next level may not require more output. It may require a bigger container.

If you are the most benevolent person you know, lean in. You've mastered giving. You give to your clients, your team, your family, your community and everybody who needs something from you. But what happens when it's your turn to receive? In part five of the Hidden Taxes Series, we're exposing The Receiving Tax, the hidden cost of being an extraordinary giver who struggles to receive money, support, recognition, ease, love and rest. If you've been asking how to make more money, scale to seven figures, receive more support or create more ease in your business, the answer may not be another strategy or more output. You may have reached the limit of what your current capacity can hold. Because you cannot keep praying for an ocean while refusing to put down the teacup.

Here’s the truth: your inability to receive isn't necessarily humility. Refusing to be supported, celebrated, compensated, rested or loved can become its own form of pride, and a closed hand cannot hold a harvest.

You’ll walk away with a completely different understanding of what it means to have capacity for millions. You'll identify six places the Receiving Tax may be quietly showing up, understand why some of the world's most generous people still burn out, and learn three practices for strengthening your receiving muscle. Most importantly, you'll see why your next level may not be waiting on another strategy, launch or achievement. It may be waiting for you to become the vessel capable of holding what you've already been asking to receive.

Grab your Move to Millions Podcast Notebook, a pen and your favorite beverage and listen in to discover:

How to recognize the six places a receiving problem can hide
How to distinguish generosity from self-sacrifice
✔ How to expand your capacity to receive
✔And so much more

This episode is a call to stop assuming giving more is always the answer. If you're constantly pouring out but uncomfortable being poured into, your generosity may be disguising the very imbalance that's capping your next level.

This is your invitation to open your hands to the money, support, recognition, ease, love and rest you've been asking for. More cannot fill a hand that is still clenched around self-reliance.

Darnyelle: [00:00:00] I want you to imagine that you have been praying for an ocean, and God is more than willing to send the ocean. But you are in front of the ocean with a small cup. The ocean is not the problem. The supply is not the problem. The container is the problem

Welcome to the Move to Millions podcast. Each week we explore the intersection of business growth, neuroscience, money and wealth consciousness, leadership, and spiritual alignment so that you can build a business that funds your legacy without fragmenting your life. I'm Dr. Darnyelle, best-selling author and creator of the Move to Millions method.

And if there's one thing I'm clear about, it's that the Move to Millions is not just about business growth. It is an evolution of who you are and how you lead. And trust me when I tell you that until you are safe and secure in your relationships with yourself, money, wealth, and success, your move to millions is [00:01:00] indeed in jeopardy.

My job is to equip you to become your very own sanctuary for soul and strategy success. This is the Move to Millions podcast. Welcome home.

Before we dive into this week's episode, let me ask you something real quick. If this podcast has ever made you think deeper, shift something in your spirit, or take bold, bankable action in your business, would you do me a favor? Would you take a moment and scroll down and leave us a rating or review?

Listen, that's how we grow this message and get it into the ears of more seven-figure CEOs and seven-figure CEOs in the making. Your words matter. Your support matters. So please take a moment to go ahead, rate, review, and then come right back because this episode is about to shift everything. You have been praying for so much more: more money, more [00:02:00] support, more clients, more ease, more help, more visibility.

I mean, if only people knew that you existed. You've been asking God, you've been asking the universe, you've been asking your team, and you've been asking your own two hands for more. And if you're being honest, all the asking has not brought what you desire at the speed that you would've liked, and you cannot, for the life of you, understand why.

Because you, in your own mind, are doing everything right Let me offer you a possibility that might just change everything. Believe it or not, desiring more is not the problem. The more has been trying to reach you this entire time. The problem is that you, my friend, do not have the room to receive the more that you are asking for.

Your capacity is shot. It's like you have a closed hand asking for a bigger gift. [00:03:00] Welcome back to the series where we are auditing the eight hidden taxes that will never show up on a financial statement, but at the same time they are quietly draining your capacity for wealth, for leadership, for impact, and good old-fashioned peace.

So far, we have gotten into four: the survival tax, the approval tax, the control tax, and just in our last episode, the hustle tax. Listen to me when I tell you, this tax that we are getting into today is what I believe is the turn of the entire series. Because every tax that we have talked about so far has been about something that you need to put down, but the one that we are about to get into today, this is about what you have never been able to pick up.

And once you see it, once you hear it, you are actually going to understand all four of the previous [00:04:00] taxes so much differently because this is the root that is underneath each of them. So in this episode, we are talking about the receiving tax. Ooh. Oh, and it's gonna be so good. We're getting into why more is not coming because you do not have the capacity to receive it.

Now, I wanna start by getting one thing straight. You are a phenomenal giver. You give to your clients, you give to your team, you give to your family, you give to your community, you give to your church if you go to the church. You are generous to a fault. But when it is time for you to receive, you freeze, you deflect, you find a way to give it back.

You cannot let support, money, rest, or help, or even a compliment fully land in your life experience. It feels uncomfortable, and if you're being honest, it makes you anxious. And that single imbalance, [00:05:00] the gap between how much you're giving out and the little you allow yourself to receive, that is what it is the quiet ceiling on everything you keep saying that you desire to bring into your life experience As we have done with all of the episodes so far in this series, I have a question I want you to be asking yourself as you listen and/or watch this episode, and that is simply this: What if the breakthrough that you have been working so hard for is not in doing more?

What if it is in finally learning how to receive?

Mm.

Take a deep breath in. You are watching or listening to the Move to Millions podcast. I am your host, Dr. Darnyelle, award-winning CEO of Incredible One Enterprises and the creator of several powerful business growth systems and frameworks, including our coveted Move to Millions method.

This is part five [00:06:00] in our latest series, the hidden taxes that are keeping you from making, moving, and eventually leaving millions. And this one, if you ask me, is the heart of the whole series. Now, if you are only gonna watch or listen to one episode, let this be the one. But you might as well go ahead and subscribe because this podcast is my love letter to business.

Listen, I am so convinced that you do not have to choose, that you can love God and you can make millions, and you can have a business that serves you financially and spiritually without having to sacrifice your soul in the process. I believe that you have every right to live into the abundant birthright that is already yours.

That's what I believe. I'm so excited that you're here. Now, this episode hits deep because I have always had a problem receiving, and it always caused me a lot of stress and strain. For my entire life, I've been the giver. Part of the [00:07:00] reason, if I'm being honest, is because I've always felt like, or at least I used to always feel like, I was not worthy of receiving.

My very religious upbringing kept telling me that I was not worthy, and I believed it. I mean, who argues with God? Now, of course, I believe something differently today. I know very differently. But back in the day, I really was perplexed at receiving. Before I had a business, I was giving to classmates, my fellow Girl Scouts, my church family, the cheerleaders I was on the squad with.

I had always been one who gives. And as an adult, it was to my clients, to my team, to my family, to the homeless and the less fortunate. I'm the one who always shows up, who covers, who carries, and who pours out. If you need anything, you can come to me, and if I have it, if it is within my power to offer it to you, I'm making it yours, often before you would even ask me for it.

It used to frustrate me to no end when I [00:08:00] couldn't say yes because I just wanted to give. I built an entire identity and a multi-million dollar company and eight-figure portfolio on being the one who gives. And don't get me wrong, I love being a giver. I am generous and benevolent. It's my birthright. It's who I am.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, unless you will not allow others to restore you to-- and actually receive that Now, as I started to do more of my soul work, I discovered something about myself that really did humble me to my core, and that was that I had no idea how to receive. I mean, I'd be offered a compliment, and instead of sitting with it and simply saying the only two words you should ever say when someone gives you a compliment, I would deflect, I would downplay, I would shift the focus onto someone else.

If they complimented my outfit, I would downplay it to a fault. "Oh, this old thing?" But the truth was I did not feel worthy to receive. I mean, I could pour [00:09:00] out compliments in the thousands to other people. I just could not let anyone pour that same energy back into me. I was literally a phenomenal giver and a terrible receiver, and I didn't know it at the time, but it was quietly capping everything.

When people offered to help me, I would say, "Oh, I'm fine." When friends tried to help me out with something, "Oh, no, I got it. I can handle it." When someone did anything that was in honor and support of who I am I would deflect before I let it land. When money came easily, listen, if I'm being honest, I felt guilty, like I had not worked hard enough to deserve that money.

My dad drilled that into me every day from yay high to a grasshopper, right? I could not take it in. I could not allow myself to even rest because I felt like if I didn't earn the rest, I shouldn't be resting. Hey, I hate to interrupt the goodness that's happening right now in this [00:10:00] episode, but I need you to do me a quick favor.

If this episode is blessing your life and business right now, will you take a few moments and rate and review the show? Your words help more millions-minded entrepreneurs find us and step into their next level. All right. Thank you so much. Let's get back into the conversation '

cause we're just getting started.

I was literally a closed hand, generous on the outside but sealed shut on the inside. And what God showed me in that season was devastating and also freeing at the same exact time. He showed me that my giving had become kind of like an armor. And as long as I was the one that was giving, I was in control, I was safe, I felt needed.

My nervous system wasn't putting me into fight or flight or freeze or fawn. But the moment I had to receive something, it would require me to be vulnerable, and vulnerability is not safe. I would have to admit that I needed [00:11:00] something. I'd have to let someone else see me as not the strong one. They'd start to see me as a woman who couldn't do it all, and that terrified me more than anything I've ever experienced in my life, even bankruptcy.

And here is what I finally understood. I realized that my inability to receive was not humility, that I had it backwards my whole life up until the point where I had this revelation. I thought receiving was selfish and giving was holy, but refusing to receive is its own kind of selfish pride. It is literally saying, "You'll be the source, but you'll never be the vessel."

And you cannot hold a harvest that you are not willing to receive. I had been praying for more while keeping my hands clenched shut, y'all, and more cannot fill a closed hand. And I have to be honest with you, this was powerful insight. It was a powerful revelation, but this is not just a spiritual revelation.

There is hard research out there that [00:12:00] proves that givers who cannot receive are experiencing the lesser And they are measurably less successful. Adam Grant, who is a top-rated professor at Wharton School of Business, wrote the book Give and Take. Maybe you've read it. If not, I highly recommend it. It's a really good read.

The book was based on more than 30 years of data, and he found something that really stopped me in my tracks, if I'm being honest, as a person who told myself I was generous and benevolent, right? Here's what he found. Givers, the people who contribute to others without keeping score, show up at both the very top and the very bottom of the success ladder.

The most successful people in the world are givers, but guess what? So are the least successful people. You might be wondering, Darnyelle, okay, that sounds a little ominous. What is the difference between the giver who rises to the top and the giver who's burning out at the bottom? It is whether or [00:13:00] not they are able to receive.

The givers at the bottom are what Grant calls selfless givers. They give to the point of self-sacrifice. They will not protect their own needs no matter what, and they will not accept help. And so what? They collapse. Whereas the givers at the top give just as generously, but they also receive as generously.

They ask for help. They protect their energy. They, in Grant's words, do not view their work as a cross that they alone need to bear. Now, I thought this was really powerful. Wharton studied 30 years of data to produce these results. The givers who could not receive ended up at the bottom. The breakthrough was never in giving more.

It was in learning how to receive. Are you hearing me right now? Your generosity is not the problem. Your generosity is absolutely [00:14:00] the gift that you believe that it is. But here's what I want you to catch. Generosity without the capacity to receive is the exact profile of the giver who ends up exhausted and stuck at the bottom of their own potential The thing standing between you and the top is not more output.

How many times do I have to tell you? I'll keep telling you. It is your willingness to open your hands. Those of you who are watching me on YouTube see me with hands wide open. Sprinkles, sparkle fingers, right? Now, here's what I want you to think about, 'cause you might be wondering if you right now are paying the receiving tax.

And so I wanna share some signs with you that will demonstrate if this is a problem for you, right? If you can give but not let yourself receive. And I think you are gonna recognize yourself in at least a few of these. Let's get started. Okay, number one, support. If you are the one who supports everybody else, you're the one that everybody [00:15:00] leans on, but when someone offers you support, your reflex is immediately, "I'm fine.

I've got it. Don't worry about me. I'll get it done." You cannot let the help land because needing support feels like weakness. And I just want you to really anchor into that, right? It is that even when support is freely offered to you with no strings, you cannot bring yourself to receive it. And let's be clear, a leader who cannot be supported has put a hard ceiling on how big they can actually grow.

All right. The second sign is money. If you give discounts on end, you throw in all the extras, you pour value incessantly into other people, but when it comes to receiving, that is harder, meaning you undercharge, you feel a flicker of guilt when money comes to you easily, or you give it away, or you immediately reinvest it before you can allow it to sit in your account long enough to feel like it's actually [00:16:00] yours.

Somewhere inside of you, you believe that receiving money that you did not struggle or effort or hustle or grind for is not quite right. But what I need you to understand is that money is an energy, and you cannot build wealth if you are not willing to receive Just saying. All right, number three, recognition.

When someone gives you a compliment and you deflect b- before they can even finish their sentence. Listen, oh, it was nothing. This old thing? Oh, it was a team effort. I didn't do this by myself. You should've seen what it looked like before. If you cannot physically acknowledge and allow a compliment to land, you have a receiving problem.

If you give generously, but you bat away every piece that wants to come back to you, if you deflect every compliment, it's a small refusal to receive your own worth. You are literally training the world and yourself to never let your [00:17:00] value fully register. And number four, ease. When something comes easily, if you distrust it, if it wasn't hard, it doesn't count.

So you make things more difficult than they actually need to be. You add steps, you overcomplicate, because struggle feels legitimate. Ease feels like cheating. But here is what I want you to understand. Ease is not the enemy of value. Ease is often the evidence that you are indeed in alignment. Hmm. Here's what I want you to really let sink in.

The person who cannot receive ease will sabotage their own grace every single time in favor of a harder road that proves that you earned it Effort is not required. Okay, the fifth sign, love. If you love hard, you show up for people in your life completely, but being loved, being cared for, being the one who is held instead of the one that holds, that sounds like I'm [00:18:00] speaking German to you right now.

That might be where you get uncomfortable if you have a receiving problem because receiving love actually requires that you be soft, that you be seen, that you be open, and that you allow your vulnerability to get into the eye view of someone else, right? So what happens? You stay in the giving role in your relationships too because giving keeps you safe, and receiving makes you feel vulnerable and not safe, and your nervous system starts to heighten.

And the people who love you are quietly starving to be allowed to love you back. I'm just saying. And the final one I have for you is rest. Rest is offered to you constantly. A free evening, a real vacation, a morning with nothing to do. And you, my friend, if you have a receiving problem, you cannot receive it.

We talked about this when we did the hustle tax episode. But here is the receiving layer underneath of it. [00:19:00] Rest is a gift, and if you cannot take the gift in because you do not believe that you are allowed to receive anything that you did not earn, you will literally turn down the one thing that your body and your spirit is begging you to accept.

Now, listen back to what I just shared with you, and if three or more of them landed, I want you to hear me. You do not have a giving problem. You have a receiving problem, and it is the single most expensive imbalance in your entire life right now because it is quietly or maybe not so quietly capping the wealth, the support, the love, and the ease that are all trying to reach for you right now and cannot find a safe place to land inside of your life experience I do not desire this for you, by the way.

The costs, if you ask me, are not worth it. You have a distinct opportunity to make a different [00:20:00] choice because what it's costing you will continue to cost you. And we can start with the wealth because that's the part that will shift how you pray, right? You've been asking for more, working for more, and believing for more, but I need you to understand that wealth does not flow to the deserving.

It flows to those who have built the capacity to receive it, who actually have space. Think of this as your container. If it is full to the brim, you cannot receive. Yet you keep asking, can you receive? It don't work like that. If you've been doing all the right things but still feel like you're carrying more weight than you should, it's not your strategy, it's your pattern.

There's a hidden way that you lead that's shaping your money, your success, and your peace and until you see it, you'll keep working harder than you have to. The Ascension Archetypes Quiz shows you in just three minutes what's been driving your business behind the scenes and what needs to shift so that you can finally [00:21:00] experience the overflow you're desiring.

Your nervous system is not suddenly going to know how to receive a quantum leap in revenue or support or love.

The increase is not being [00:22:00] withheld from you. It's waiting on you to build the capacity to receive it When you allow this to anchor into your spirit, it will begin to change everything because let me tell you, more that you desire is not stuck in heaven. It is stuck at the border of your capacity to receive it.

Then let's think about the cost to your body, and we've been talking about that this entire series, right? The selfless giver burns out. That is not a maybe. Grant's thirty years of data says the giver who will not receive runs out of energy and resources and ends up at the bottom. You will give yourself empty, and because you will not let anyone refill you, empty is where you will stay.

But there is a cost that honestly breaks my heart more than the other two that we've just talked about. And it-- I think it breaks my heart the most because it's not about the money, it's about the love. The people in your life are [00:23:00] desperate to, to love on you, to support you, to celebrate you, to care for you, to pour back into who you are for them.

And if you will not let them because you don't know how to be loved. Okay, my hand is up right now for those of you listening. This was my problem. I did not know how to be loved, and so no one would love me. It caused such a problem. It's why I was a late bloomer and didn't get married until I was almost forty-two years old.

And I thought I was being humble, but the truth is I was quietly holding the people who love me at arm's length and calling it strength until one day I realized That love is all that matters. I know that sounds real cliché, but it is also very true. And when I opened myself up to being love, I actually found a version of myself that I really enjoy.

Not being loved, if you ask me, is the most expensive line item of all. It's not about the [00:24:00] money. It's about the intimacy that you forfeit by keeping your hands closed. So hear me. Learning to receive is not soft, and it is not selfish. It is your God-given right. It is the single most important capacity that you can build because it is the container that everything else you want in your life will land into.

And that capacity has a name and a place where it gets built, and that is what will change everything. Here's what I know. There is a path to becoming a person who shifts from just being an amazing giver and truly becomes an equally amazing receiver. The first step is simple. Just begin to say thank you.

Listen, receiving is a muscle, and right now yours are weak from never actually just uttering the only two words that should follow any success, any recognition that anybody wants to give you. And I want you to start with the [00:25:00] smallest thing ever. The next time someone offers you a compliment, a hand, a gift, or anything that you would previously bat away before you could even smile crookedly at them, before you could ever say, "Oh, no, I'm good.

I don't need anything. Don't worry about me," I want you to catch that reflex the second it's starting to come out of your mouth, and I want you to choose a different response. Thank you. Two words. Then I want you to close your mouth and just let it land. Don't minimize it. Don't feel like you have to give something back in order to even the score.

Do not even explain why you did whatever you did to cause the compliment. Just receive it. Just say thank you. Now, it's probably going to feel uncomfortable like it did for me the very first time. It's probably going to feel like you're getting away with something, but that discomfort is the tax that you have been paying your whole life finally showing itself out loud.

And every time you let [00:26:00] something land instead of deflecting it, you are stretching your capacity so that you can take in more. Mm. And that's where it gets juicy good. All right, step two, ask for help before you are desperate. I'm talking to myself right now 'cause this was me. I would wait until the very end.

The selfless giver only asks for help when they are already on the floor because they wait until doing it alone is literally impossible. But then it is not really receiving. It's rescue, right? I want you to practice asking while you are still standing. Ask for the support before the deadline Ask before it becomes a point of crisis.

Delegate before you're drowning in it. Let someone else help you before you get to the point where it's going to be a desperate act of salvation. I want you to learn how to ask before it becomes collapse so that you're not in survival mode, so that you're actually in receiving mode. [00:27:00] The research is clear.

People are far more willing to help you than you believe, and most of them will feel honored to have been asked. Your need is not a burden to the people who love you. It is an invitation you have been refusing to extend. And then step number three is to receive from God before you produce from God. This is the root, and it is the one that heals the other two steps.

Somewhere along the way, you decided, or it was taught to you, or you caught it, that you have to earn your worth. You have to earn your ability to rest, to have wealth, anything. Anything that you produce, you have to earn it. So you give and give and give trying to deserve what was always meant to be your gift.

By grace, by definition, means it cannot be earned. The moment you work for it, it stops being grace and it becomes work. It becomes a wages. So before you [00:28:00] produce one more thing, I want you to practice receiving what you did not earn by sitting in the significance and the stillness and receiving it Even though you didn't perform for it.

Receiving worth that you did not have to achieve. Receiving provision that you did not have to strive for. Because until you can receive from God as His son or His daughter, you will keep trying to receive from the world as an employee, clocking in, proving and earning, and over-exhausting yourself.

Receiving starts vertically before it ever works horizontally. Fill your cup from the source, then watch how differently you actually give from your overflow. This is the game changer that you didn't even know that you needed. I'm telling you, it's gonna change everything for you. And I want you to notice what all three steps have in [00:29:00] common.

Not one of them is asking you to give more. Every single one asks you to open your hands that you would have normally had closed your whole life. Because the goal was never to make you a better giver. You've mastered that. The goal is to finally make you a whole one. Now, I believe that this framework, it reframes your entire move to millions.

I want you to imagine that you have been praying for an ocean, and God is more than willing to send the ocean, but you are holding up a teacup. The ocean is not the problem. The supply was never the problem. The container, that is the problem And no matter how hard you pray, you cannot hold an ocean in a teacup.

You will get a teacup full, and then you will watch the rest run right past you, and you will wonder why [00:30:00] the abundance everyone else is talking about never seems to stay with you. Receiving is how you grow the cup. Every single time you let support land, you let a compliment register, you let money sit, you let yourself be loved and held and rested, you, my friend, are stretching your container.

You are building the capacity to hold more. So the work is not to chase a bigger ocean. The ocean is already there. The work is to become a bigger vessel. I believe that revenue rises to meet capacity, and you cannot hold a millions-level harvest with a survival-level container. This is why the answer to your question, what if the breakthrough is not in doing more, is so important because you have been trying to earn the ocean by producing more.

But producing is giving, and you are already maxed out on giving. The breakthrough is [00:31:00] on the exact opposite side of where you have been digging. It is not in your output. It is in your intake. The next level is not asking you to give more. It is asking you to finally be able to receive what your giving has already earned.

And that capacity to receive, that is the whole game. That is what scaling to millions actually requires of you on the inside. Now, here is what is going to make all of this land for you in a powerful way Yes, there is a reason your strategy feels stalled, and I bet you didn't realize it's spiritual.

Step three, I want you to receive from God before you produce for God. Now, this is the root and this is the one that is going to heal the other two because somewhere along the way, you decided that you have to earn your worth, your rest, your wealth, your seat at the table through what it is that you produce.

So you give and give trying to deserve what was always meant to be a gift. But grace, by definition, cannot be earned. The moment that you work for it, it stops being grace and it [00:33:00] becomes wages. So before you produce another thing, I want you to practice receiving what you did not earn. I want you to sit in the significance and the stillness and receive love that you did not perform for, receive worth that you did not achieve, and receive provision that you did not strive for.

Because until you can receive as a son or daughter of God, you will keep trying to receive from the world as an employee clocking in, proving, earning, striving, and being exhausted. Receiving starts vertically before it ever works horizontally. So I want you to fill your cup from the source, and then I want you to watch how differently you give from your overflow Now I want you to notice what each of these three actually have in common.

Not one of them is asking you to give more. Every single one of them is asking you to open your hands. Now, I know you've had your hands closed your whole life, but the goal was never for you to become a better giver. You've mastered [00:34:00] that. The goal is to finally make you a whole one. Here's the framework that I believe reframes your entire move to millions.

I want you to imagine that you have been praying for an ocean, and God is more than willing to send the ocean, but you are in front of the ocean with a small cup. The ocean is not the problem. The supply is not the problem. The container is the problem, and no matter how hard you pray, you cannot hold an ocean in a cup that only holds 30 ounces.

You will only get a cup full, and then you will watch the rest move right past you and wonder why the abundance that everyone keeps talking about seems to never come and stay with you. Now, receiving is how you grow the cup. Every single time you let support land, you let a compliment register, you let money sit, and let yourself be loved and held and rested, you, my [00:35:00] friend, are stretching your container.

You are building the capacity to hold more. So the work is not to chase a bigger ocean. The ocean is already there. The work is to become a bigger vessel. I believe that revenue rises to meet capacity, and you cannot hold a millions-level harvest with a survival-level container. This is why the answer to your question, what if the breakthrough is not in doing more, is so important.

Because you have been trying to earn the ocean by producing more your entire life. But producing is giving, and you are already maxed out on giving. The breakthrough is in the exact opposite side of where you have been digging. It is not in your output. It is in your intake. Your next level is not asking you to give more.

It is asking you to finally be able to receive what your giving has already [00:36:00] earned you. And that capacity to receive, that is the whole game. That is what scaling to and beyond seven figures actually requires of you on the inside Now, here is how we take all of this and we make it personal, because the receiving tax closes a different hand in each of us.

It blocks whatever your wiring is most afraid to be vulnerable about. So if you've taken the Ascension archetype quiz, this part is gonna make complete sense. If you have not taken it yet, this is your invitation. It's free, it only takes three minutes, and it is waiting for you at movetomillionsquiz.com.

Now, when you take the quiz, you will learn which of the five archetypes is yours. You'll be the performer, the producer, the path maker, the powerhouse, or the prophet. There is no right or wrong archetype. They are all amazing. You're all designed by God and put in this world to do amazing things. Your [00:37:00] wiring, however, is the key to unlocking your biggest breakthroughs yet, and that is why I talk about the archetypes in every single episode.

Eventually, this whole world is gonna know whether they are which of the five archetypes. Now, if you are a performer, hey, performer, you pour energy into every room and every audience, but you cannot receive private care. On stage, you radiate, but when someone tries to pour into you when the lights are off, you deflect.

You can receive applause, but you cannot receive being truly cared for. Your growth is letting people love the person behind the performance, not just celebrate the performance. If you are a producer, hey producer, you are the most obvious terrible receiver. Sorry, but it's the truth. Because receiving feels unproductive and unproductive energy feels unbearable to you.

You will not let anyone do for you because being done for means sitting still, twiddling your thumbs and receiving, [00:38:00] and that violates your entire operating system. Your growth is in learning that being poured into is not a waste of time. It is the refill that makes everything you produce actually sustainable.

If you are a path maker, hey, path maker, you pour vision and possibility into everyone else's dreams, but you cannot sit still long enough to receive anyone pouring into you. You are always moving towards the next target, and receiving requires you to stop and sit in the significance and be present long enough to take something in and let it anchor.

Your growth is letting people invest in you and your vision and trusting it enough to stand still and actually receive it. If you are a powerhouse, hey, powerhouse, you are the strong one who has never let anyone carry you. You give strength, you give [00:39:00] protection, you give capability, and you cannot receive support to save your life.

"I am fine" is your reflex, and it is also your prison. Your growth And it is the hardest of all of them is letting yourself be held. Letting someone be strong for you. Discovering that you are still powerful even when someone else is carrying you. And last but not least, if you are the prophet, hey, prophet, you give wisdom, discernment, and spiritual covering to everyone, and you pour out until you are depleted because in your mind you struggle to receive ministry yourself.

You believe that you have to earn the gift, so receiving grace, the unearned kind, is the hardest thing for you to really grapple with. Your growth is learning to be ministered to and to receive the very thing that you so freely give to others [00:40:00] and to let grace be grace. Now, I hope you notice that every archetype gives generously and receives poorly.

Different closed hand, but same locked muscle. And the question is the same for every archetype: What if the breakthrough is not in doing more or giving more? Now you might be asking, "Okay, Darnyelle, this all sounds good, but how do I actually build the capacity to receive?" And if you're asking that question, it's likely because you cannot think your way into it and you cannot hustle your way into it either.

Capacity is not built by trying harder. It is built in the space designed to hold you while you learn for the first time how to be held. This is why I created Sanctuary. Listen, I love Sanctuary. And it's so important that you understand that Sanctuary is not where you go to figure out how to do more.

It's where you go to finally build the capacity to receive [00:41:00] everything that you have been asking God for. In Sanctuary, we have Sanctuary Core, we have Sanctuary Business. I created Sanctuary Core because I started to notice that many of our clients, because of me and the strategies that we share, were coming into more money, but they weren't feeling safe with it.

And it's never a money problem, it's always something else, either safety, capacity, deserve level. And there's nothing on the market that spoke to that level of development. When I was in that season, the one where I had to learn how to receive for myself, I went looking for a space that could hold me. Not a mastermind that would help me to optimize my business more, not a program that would give me another strategy to implement or execute.

No. I didn't want another room that would celebrate the giver that I am and ask me to give more. I needed a safe, significant, and aligned space where I could put down my [00:42:00] strength and finally be the one who was poured into. A place where receiving was safe, where receiving was normal, baseline every day.

Where being held was the whole point of the container. I needed a place to do the deep work that needed to happen before I attempted another strategy. The work that most people pretend doesn't matter. This is so much more than mindset, y'all. This is soul-level work and integration. And this is what Sanctuary Core is all about.

It is the room where legacy-led CEOs stop being the source and learn to become the vessel. Ooh, I'm so excited for Sanctuary. This is where you build in community and in covering the internal capacity to receive the wealth, the support, the rest, the recognition, the love that you are giving has already earned you.

It is not where you go to do more. It is where you go to build capacity. It is [00:43:00] where you go to shift your relationships with yourself, with God, with money, with wealth, with success, and leadership because it takes whole relationships with all of them to achieve millions for you and your legacy Yes, there is a reason your strategy feels stalled, and I bet you didn't realize it's spiritual.

Now, I believe that everything in you already knows how to do more. This is where you finally learn how to receive more, and there is no program like Sanctuary on the market because most of the industry is built to make you a better giver. [00:44:00] Sanctuary was built to make you a whole giver. In our beta of Sanctuary Core, I have been watching talented doctors, PhDs, MBAs, and other business leaders soften into the kind of safety of knowing that they are worthy of more and opening up to allow it to flow in.

No force, y'all, just flow, and it has been so beautiful to watch. And the crazy thing is that we're not working on their businesses, but their businesses are growing. They're raising their rates. They're getting more clients to hire them in their higher programs. They're going to the sales conversation from a place of safety and regulation, and it's changing everything.

And this is why this episode is the heart of the series because every other tax that we've talked about, the survival, the approval, the control, and the hustle, they all allow you to keep your hands closed, but the receiving tax is where you finally learn how to open them, and that's what we're doing in Sanctuary.[00:45:00]

If anything that I've said to you today has landed in your heart and not just in your head, then your next step is to get on the waitlist at incredibleoneenterprises.com/sanctuary because everything in this series has uncovered a place in you that needs a safe and significant place to land, and Sanctuary was built to be that place.

Take a deep breath in, and just release and let your shoulders drop. Before we close, I wanna be very, very clear. Your generosity is one of the most beautiful things about you, and I don't want you to put it down. The world needs who you are as a giver. But a river that only flows out and never lets anything flow in does not stay a river.

It becomes a drought. You were never meant to be only a source. You were always meant to be a vessel, and a vessel has to be willing to be filled. So I wanna invite you to open your hands, not just to give, but to receive because the more you have been praying for has been [00:46:00] standing at the precipice of this whole time, waiting for you to make the room.

Now, I have three things I want you to do as we honor this episode and you round out your week. Number one, I want you to practice receiving one thing without deflecting it, whether it be a compliment, an offer of help, a gift. When it comes, do not bat it away. Just say thank you and let it anchor in. Now, I do want you to notice how hard that is.

That difficulty is the tax, and the practice is how you start settling it Second thing I want you to do is if this episode is the one that finally named what has been capping you, I want you to go get on the wait list for Sanctuary Core at incredibleoneenterprises.com/sanctuary. This is the work.

Sanctuary is the room where receiving becomes normal and baseline for you so that you can regulate into the safety of expanding your capacity. And the third thing I [00:47:00] want you to do this week is I want you to share this episode with a giver in your life, the one who is always pouring out and never lets anyone do a single thing for them.

They think that their inability to receive is humility, but they need to hear that that is the very thing that is capping their harvest. Then I want you to invite you to put your dominant hand on your heart and your other hand on your belly and say this with me: I am a, a worthy receiver, not just g- a generous giver.

I open my hands to receive all that is mine. I expand my capacity to hold the harvest that I have been praying for. This season is about receiving instead of only giving, and I am ready, worthy, and capable.

Mm.

That felt good. Next week we move on to the sixth hidden tax. This is the one that I believe everyone has been waiting for, waiting for clarity, for confirmation, waiting to be sure before you move.

I'm talking about the trust tax, waiting for a clarity that [00:48:00] may never come. We're gonna talk all about how I watch so many brilliant CEOs stay stalled in a holding pattern that they are calling discernment when it is actually fear in spiritual language. We're gonna get into why your need to be certain before you act is costing you the very opportunities that you have been praying for, and we're gonna talk about what it would look like to finally trust yourself, truly trust God, and move before you can see the whole staircase.

Mm.
