========================

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:00:00]:
How you show up is going to set the tone for your team. Right? Your team is going to look to you as an emotional thermostat for the business. So if you’re anxious and you’re reactive, so will they be anxious and reactive. When you leave from a place that is cool, calm, confident, collected, your team will feel safe, they will feel empowered, and they will be able to perform at their best. You’re listening to the Move to Millions podcast with Dr. Darnyelle Jervey Harmon. The place to be for high level con about all things millions. Your mission, mindset, methodologies, mandate movement, messaging, marketing metrics, and most definitely your money.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:00:44]:
I am your host, spiritual business growth coach, Dr. Darnyelle J. Harmon. Join me each week for inspiring stories, powerful interviews and business growth strategies to help you experience abundance in your life because of your business. If you’re ready to move to your next level, everything, let’s get this party welcome back to another episode of the Move to Millions podcast. I am your host, Dr. Darnyelle God Girl, Eight Figure Entrepreneur, the award winning CEO of Incredible One Enterprises and the creator of the Move to Millions movement. I am so excited if for you.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:01:29]:
If you are here today because this episode is about to be a game changer. So recently held my Soul and Strategy retreat, which is a newer offering that we have here at House of Millions. The first time I offered it was in July of last year. I’ve noticed as I’ve been working with more and more entrepreneurs and small business owners just like you to help them to get to and beyond seven figures. I’ve noticed that it’s not just strategy and you’ve probably heard me talk about this on the podcast. It’s not just strategy, y’all. Right? If it were just strategy, don’t you think the statistics would be a little bit different? Don’t you think that there would be so many more people making, moving and leaving millions? I do. Right.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:02:13]:
And we know these numbers. 4.2% of the 33 million small businesses that are in the United States generate seven figures a year. That number chops to 2.35% if you are a service based business owner, 1.9% if you are a woman, 0.9% if you are black and.05% if you are a black woman. So if it were just strategy, I bet you the numbers would be double, triple, maybe even quadratic. Quadruple. Right? So what I realized is that and part of the reason our work in our House of Millions business advisory programs has been designed to work on the whole CEO is because we recognize the significance of holistic work, including soul capacity and soul leadership, which are two of the areas that we really focus on at the soul and strategy retreat. It is a phenomenal and powerful experience. If you are interested as an entrepreneur, small business owner that is generating at least six figures a year that really wants to figure out what is in the way.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:03:16]:
I believe that the moment I meet you, you already have a seven figure business. You’re just not packaged, priced, and positioned correctly. And so that’s where me and my team step in and we help you to get those things in place as well as we do this inner work. Tightening your inner game. Because you’ve got to tighten your inner game at three times the rate you work on your outer game if you really want to see the kind of success that you can sustain over time. So in today’s episode, I want you to understand you do not need more time or even better tools to build a business to seven figures. You actually need to do some work on your nervous system. Now, I believe the truth of the matter is that you cannot make million dollar decisions, seven figure CEO decisions when you are stressed out.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:04:01]:
Can I get a witness over here? Okay. So the question I want you to ask yourself is what do you do when you are feeling the pressure, when there is tightness and tension in your shoulders? Those of you who will watch the video version of this episode, like I’m pointing my shoulders when all of this up in here is feeling tight, right? When something happens in your business and you are playing fireman or firewoman, and you are just literally hose in hand, putting out flyers, trying to fan the flames, trying to keep this business moving, trying to keep all the plates in the air, if you will. How do you respond if you are not making decisions from a place of clarity and confidence, but instead are making decisions out of stress or overwhelm. Honey child, this episode is for you. I used to think I could outwork the stress that I felt. Like literally tension, always sitting here. I thought if I just pushed harder, if I worked longer, if I just felt the pain but did it anyway, it would be okay, that I’d stay in control. I keep all of the balls in the air.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:05:10]:
But here’s what I realized, that the more chaotic I felt, the more chaos I created in my business. Did you catch that? The more chaotic I felt, the more chaos showed up in and through. Okay? And that is not what we desire. It wasn’t until I learned how to focus on my nervous system that I started to show up Calm, cool and collected. And that is what made the difference. And that is why we are now an eight figure brand and we have this amazing portfolio. Now today, I promise to share with you how you. I, I want to first help you to understand what I mean when I say nervous system.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:05:48]:
I know you know what it is because, like, you went to school, right? But I want to help you to understand how you can regulate your nervous system so that even when it is chaos, because I promise you, on the move to millions, there will be moments that are chaotic. But just because there are chaotic moments around you does not mean that you have to be a center for the chaos that is coming. And I’m going to give you the tools that’ll help you to lead with clarity, with confidence, and with my favorite, grace and ease. All right, so let’s first get into why your nervous system is what I believe. The hidden CEO gem, right? Like this is the thing that when you understand it, it changes the game. So about right after Christmas, I just, I felt this unction in my spirit. Y’all know I’m a God girl. You know, God is up in and through everything that I do.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:06:41]:
And I just felt this unction in my spirit. I pray every single day for my clients. I have a board that I’m pointing to for those of you who will see the video version that has every single client that is currently enrolled in one of our programs on it. And throughout the course of the week, I pray and I literally call my clients names before the Lord. And as I’m praying and calling their names before the Lord, I am checking in with my body to see what shows up and to see how an individual’s name hits my spirit. Because that tells me that either A, I need to pray a little bit harder, or B, I need to reach out and see what’s going on with the client, right? And so in December, I started to feel this for multiple clients. And so I made the decision, it was supposed to be a one time thing that I was gonna create this session for our clients called Tapping into Abundance. It’s about on the emotional freedom technique, which I will talk to you.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:07:37]:
And so I did it first on December 26. It was so good, y’all. Good for my soul as well as good for the souls of those who showed up. That we’ve been doing it every single day, Monday through Friday since. Right? So when I talk about your nervous system, I’m talking about how you respond to stress, challenges, and opportunities that present themselves in your life, in your business. If you love the Move to Millions podcast and the Move to Millions book is blowing your mind, then you have got to join us for Move to Millions live. All the details are waiting for you to secure your [email protected] My best selling book Move to Millions, the proven framework to become a million dollar CEO with grace and ease instead of hustle and grind is now available on Audible. That’s right, you can listen to nugget after nugget, strategy after strategy, and chapter after chapter designed to help you to position your business for seven figures with grace and ease instead of hustle and grind.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:08:40]:
Go to Audible today to get your Audible copy of Move to Millions. When your nervous system is not regulated when you’re constantly in fight, flight or freeze mode, you react impulsively, you make poor decisions and you burn out faster. Surely you can see right here, right now why this is a thing. And while this is a thing, you don’t want to be happening in your business as you make the move to millions, right? So inside of your nervous system we have the sympathetic nervous system which triggers your fight or fight responses when you are perceiving that there’s a threat, right? You have a difficult client, you have a financial setback, or you have an overwhelming to do list, your sympathetic nervous system is going to be heightened. Your parasympathetic nervous system helps you to rest, recover and make calm, thoughtful decisions. This is the CEO state that I really want you to be in and operate from at all times. So how does this show up in your business now that you understand the difference between your sympathetic and your parasympathetic? When you’re stressed, your brain goes into survival mode. Instead of thinking strategically, you start to think out of desperation and emotion.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:09:52]:
Your lack default shows up and you might forget everything you ever thought you knew about whatever it is you thought you knew because you are in a fight or flight scenario and all logic is thrown out of the door, right? If every day feels like you know there’s a challenge. Like if you find yourself snapping at your team, if you’re rushing through decisions or you’re freezing freezing or avoiding making hard decisions altogether. Girl, boy, been there, done that, got all the t shirts. So examples of some decisions that you might make as a CEO when your nervous system is not regulated is overacting over a minor client complaint, making rash financial decisions out of fear or lack or procrastinating on important growth strategies because your brain is overwhelmed. So when here are a few signs that you are leading from chaos Instead of calm, you’re constantly in crisis mode. Number one, if every day feels like you’re putting out fires and you’re always reacting instead of proactively leading, your nervous system is probably in fight or flight mode. Number two, you can’t focus on big picture goals. You know, I’m the queen of vision point, the vantage point.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:11:03]:
Boo. And if you cannot focus on your vision point because your vantage point is stressing you the hell out, you got an issue. And you are not leading from calm. You are caught in chaos. When your nervous system is overwhelmed, it’s really hard for you to zoom out and focus on strategy because your brain is not trying. Your brain is actually trying to survive this next minute, right? And a third example could be when you are exhausted, even when you’re not doing very much, mental exhaustion from constant stress, it feels heavy, it feels like a physical burden. It feels like trying to push a boulder up a hill. You might just be sitting at your desk all day, but you feel like you’ve run a marathon by the time you hit 3:00.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:11:48]:
That’s a problem. You cannot scale your business if you’re constantly operating in survival mode. Period, point blank, right? Regulating your nervous system is what’s going to help you to not just feel better, but to lead better. Can I get an amen for the seven figure CEO who wants to lead from a place of power and empowering their team? That’s what this is all about. Because this is the year of bigger, y’all. And in order for us to get bigger, we gotta go back bigger, which means we gotta do bigger, which means we gotta pay attention to our nervous system. Now here’s what I also want you to think about. Because it’s important that you understand that if you are reactive instead of being strategic and you’re making decisions based on what feels urgent in the moment, versus sticking to a strategic plan.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:12:33]:
This is a problem, right? If you are seeing yourself, this is what’s coming up for you on a regular basis. It’s almost like if you can remember back in grade school when you were doing the fire prevention week and you were taught to stop, drop and roll. I’m going to say stop, breathe and process, right? Like just stop and breathe. There’s something magical about breath work. It’s literally the breath of life. The breath in your body that is absolutely free. Heightening your focus on it can change the game. So let’s talk about some of my favorite techniques to actually regulate your nervous system and find the calm that exists in the Chaos.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:13]:
Because can I sidebar for a second as 2025 has started at the time of this recording, we’ve already been through a lot. January. January. And as a result of already being through a lot, you’re probably wearing the strain that’s associated with it. A new big changes, lots of distractions and disruptions that are threatening to derail you from your purpose in this season have shown up. And yo, it’s the whole problem. And if you don’t get a handle on your vessel, then it is going to cause more harm than good as you continue out the year and it’s not going to be sustainable. You’re not going to be able to keep this thing up, which means you will burn out before you cash out.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:58]:
And that is not what I desire for you. So here are my favorite practices to help you to regulate your nervous system and find the calm in the chaos that might be existing. Number one Breath work. Practice deep breathing techniques. The quickest way to shift from fight or flight is to really take your time and breathe. Just breathe. You probably. I’m trying to think of the movie, there’s a movie, and I can’t think of the name of the movie right now, but literally she’s like all up on a 10 and someone says, just breathe.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:14:32]:
Just breathe. Just taking a moment to breathe will be a game changer for you. When you slow your breathing, you signal your brain that you’re safe. And from there it will allow you to make better decisions. My favorite technique for breathing is to inhale for four counts, to hold for seven counts, and to exhale slowly for eight counts. We call this the 4, 7, 8. Breathing. It is not my original construction.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:14:57]:
It is something that I absolutely love though. So inhale for 4, hold for 7, release slowly for 8. 4, 7, 8. You can also use the 4. 4, 4. Inhale for 4, hold for 4, release for 4. Either of those work. When do you use it? Before a big meeting or before you have a sales call, when you feel overwhelmed by your to do list.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:15:21]:
And if you receive stressful news or feedback or even a complaint, I use this before anything that I’m doing. Anytime I have to make a decision, anytime anything is looking on my plate, when I’m feeling anxiety creep in because I’m a human being and anxiety will show up. I know the Bible says, be anxious for nothing and in all things, through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, make your request known unto God. I know that. But guess what? We’re humans. And anxiety shows up. And so when it Shows up when you are in control, when you are aware you can pause what you’re doing. I promise you there is no decision that is so important to make that you cannot breathe in for four, hold for seven and release for eight.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:16:00]:
I promise you that I like to do three. You know where I’m going with this. One for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Spirit. I like to do three in consecutive. And I promise you I’m an entirely different person. After I have breathed deeply three times, It’s a game changer. So I use this one. I believe that if I would just work harder, right? Whenever I have those moments, whenever I’m trying to control everything, instead of being in my surrender state, which happens sometimes, right? This is when I use this.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:16:29]:
It helps me to just calm myself, reenter my surrender, and give God something to bless while allowing him to figure out how we’re going to make it happen. Now, the next thing that I love is to incorporate grounding techniques into your day. Grounding is about bringing your mind and body back to the present moment when you feel overwhelmed. Catch. This fear is in your past or in your future. It’s not in your present. So when you ground yourself in your present, you can avoid that overwhelming feeling that makes you want to kick into fight or flight, right? I love the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 grounding method. And so this is what it says.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:17:10]:
You want to name five things you can see, you want to name four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. Let me repeat that. Five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, one thing you can taste. It helps to pull your brain out of future anxiety or past regret. And it anchors you in the right here and now. I think about Luther Vandross here and now, right? And in the now, this is where you make your best decisions. So you want to use it in the middle of your day when you feel your energy dip, or when your mind is racing with those what ifs, this is the perfect time to ground yourself. Now, my favorite way to do this, so bonus points if you do it this way, is to actually go outside.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:18:01]:
Now, weather permitting, take your socks and your shoes off and stand in the grass and do the same thing. The 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. But in the grass, it’s going to also help your root chakra, which will bring you back to center. Let me tell you why I love God so much. God created all of these modalities and all of these tools to support us because he literally gave us the power to do everything. That’s how much God loves you. That your body can self heal and that you can self soothe and you can self regulate. This is amazing.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:18:36]:
These are good things you want to know as a CEO. Number three, you want to create your own daily nervous system rituals. Air quotes on the rituals. Right? It’s not just about handling stress in the moment. It’s about building up habits that keep your nervous system balanced every single day. Let me tell you my favorite, my absolute favorite, I talked about it a second ago, is the emotional freedom technique EFT tapping. This is why we’ve been doing tapping into abundance every day, Monday through Friday for 15 minutes with a group of clients in my move to millions mastermind. It helps them to keep themselves regulated.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:19:13]:
So you can try morning meditation or prayer to start the day grounded. You can journal to process thoughts and reduce mental CL clutter. Our midweek episode is going to give you some journal prompts that you can use that will really help to make a difference for you. You can take regular breaks throughout the day for a quick a quick reset. I like to do shake your booty breaks where you turn some music on and for five or ten minutes you just move your body because that is the fastest way to shift your energy. And again, I love tapping every single day. Tapping on the meridian points to align your chakras and the core systems in your body to regulate your nervous system. It’s like self acupuncture.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:19:51]:
It’s a game changer. When I started implementing this into my daily practice to not just focus on being cool, calm and collected, but to actually give myself permission and grace throughout the course of the day. Nothing is so urgent that I can’t take care of myself first. It became a game changer and it made it such that I could actually lead better and make better quality decisions for my team. Now let’s talk about the ripple effect of having a nervous system that is regulated and how that impacts your business. Number one, you will make better decisions right when your mind is calm, you can think clearly, you can weigh your options rationally and you can make decisions that are aligned to your long term vision and not just the immediate pressing thing. Right? When your nervous system is calm, you don’t make fear based financial decisions like underpricing your services or rushing into risky investments or hoarding cash out of scarcity. Instead, you make thoughtful strategic choices that align with your vision point and not your vantage point.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:20:59]:
Number Two. You will improve your relationships with your team and with your clients. Write this down if you’re taking notes. Calm leaders create calm teams and serve calm clients. When you’re regulated, you communicate more clearly, you handle conflict with ease, and you foster a healthier, more productive and positive work environment. Now, how you show up is going to set the tone for your team, right? Your team is going to look to you as an emotional thermostat for the business. So if you’re anxious and you’re reactive, so will they be anxious and reactive. When you leave from a place that is cool, calm, confident, collected, your team will feel safe, they will feel empowered, and they will be able to perform at their best.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:21:44]:
I had a client who realized that every time she panicked about a project deadline, her team would scramble in response. When she started approaching deadlines with a cool, calm and collected, clear plan, her team began to mirror that energy and things started to run so much smoother. Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:22:35]:
Number three, increase creativity and innovation. When you’re not bogged down by stress, your mind is free to explore new ideas, think outside the box and find creative solutions to challenges. And number four, you will experience sustainable growth without burning out in the process. You know me, I want you to cash out before you burn out. A regulated nervous system will keep you energized and focused for your big vision. Your vision point, allowing you to grow your business sustainably without having to sacrifice your own health and wellness in the process. I remember a time when I was juggling multiple client projects. Now I take on very few private clients a year, but I do have five or so clients that I will work with at a time that are, you know, my highest level of engagement and how I have to show up.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:23:28]:
And there was a time where this particular bundle of clients, the projects were really intense and the amount of effort I had to expend for those clients was more than I typically spend it. So I’m juggling these clients. My team needed direction and I needed to make some decisions and make some investments to move the company forward. I Was overwhelmed, and I was very reactive. And it showed up in everything we were doing. And then I kind of caught myself. Have you ever had one of those moments where you’re like, girl, get yourself together? I got myself together, and I started to really go back to what I knew to do, to regulate my nervous system and put my practices back in place. And I noticed a big shift.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:24:12]:
I was able to think clearly. I was able to delegate effectively. I was able to lead my team and enjoy the process of working with my clients, which ultimately helped them to get amazing outcomes and better results. And it helped us to continue to maintain our standing in the marketplace. Now, I’ve also had clients who have been on the verge of burnout and breakdown, right. Constantly stressed out or overwhelmed. I’m thinking about one client in particular. I just noticed it on a call and said, no, we gotta do something.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:24:45]:
So we ended up scheduling a separate call where I tapped with her. Tapping is one of my favorite of them. Breathing is second. And that regulated her nervous system. And as a result, her stress went down and her revenue went up because she was able to make clear, logical, cool, calm, and collected decisions more strategically to move the business forward. So I want you to be thinking about how you show up every single day in your business. Are you showing up frazzled? Are you showing up free to engage your surrender practices and to know that your sole leadership is heightened for you to be the best version of yourself and to encourage your team to do the same. So I want you to challenge yourself this week.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:25:27]:
I want you to pay attention to how your body feels when you’re making decisions. Are you tense? Do you find yourself clenching and holding your breath? Do you feel overwhelmed? I want you to practice one of the techniques that I’ve shared with you in this episode, Whether it’s the breath work, the grounding, the eft or some other daily thing that you do to regulate your nervous system. And I want you to see how it impacts your leadership. I want you to remind yourself that you lead your business from a place of. Of cool, calm, collected, and confidence energy. And I want you to think about joining us at Move to Millions Live, y’all. Okay? This year, our theme is bigger. This thing is gonna be bigger.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:26:09]:
