As we come to the conclusion of 2024, I wanted to record a new episode for you where I share my top lessons in a year in review. For many, this was a tough year.  I am grateful to say that this was  a year that met my expectations based on my theme of the year – SURRENDER.  Although there were some highs and some lows, I remain fully convinced that I am living in my purpose doing work that changes lives.  And I am grateful.

My parents were drug addicts turned crack addicts, born and raised in the projects. We didn’t have, as the saying goes, a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of my financial illiteracy, which caused me a bankruptcy and losing everything and just really not being financially astute is based on where I come from. Well, today I flipped the script and now I understand money. I am financially literate and that is why I exist. It’s a big part of my purpose and my anointing. And as a result of it, I am establishing financial legacy in my family and inviting you to do the same by listening to this show.

Some fresh insights because it’s the end of 2024, December 30, 2024, and I thought it would be really cool to do kind of like a year review and share with you some of the biggest lessons that I’ve Learned in that 2024 has taught me and also give you some insight into what I hear is coming in 2025. Go to move to millionsevent.com right now to learn more and to secure your seat. Okay, 2024. I have heard from many of our clients that this was a year that they couldn’t wait to be over. I cannot share that sentiment. 2024 was a really good year for me. I mean, there were some highs, there were some lows, but there were. It was a really good year overall. And when I started the year, I always pick a theme for the year at the beginning of the year.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:07:47]:
And my theme for the year this year was to Surrender. Now surrender has been a theme that I’ve chosen many times before. And this year there was just so much to surrender to. Now I’m going to take you back to the end of 2023 for a few minutes. So we were at the end of 2023 and the market was starting to change. Now, unless you are new here, you probably have heard me say many times this season that we shifted from a growth market into a mature market. Mature markets, in my experience, happen about every four years and they are on the precipice of an election because consumers are waiting to see what’s going to happen administratively to determine how they continue to move with their money. Now, this particularly will stunt the growth of your business potentially.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:08:41]:
If you work business to consumer or business to entrepreneur, if your clients are major corporations, colleges and universities, governmental entities, you probably didn’t experience the law or the slowdown of sales that happened in 2024 like many did. So at the end of 2023, I started to get an inkling that this was happening. And as a result, I made 2024 in our business the year of the test. And so we tested so many things in 2024. Many we will never do again. Many will become a part of our regular rotation of what it is that we do. Why was I so interested in testing? I wanted to see how the market shifts were going to impact our ability to continue to run a multiple seven figure business this year. Every time we re enter a mature market, something shifts.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:09:36]:
And I wasn’t quite sure based on the last time we found ourselves in a mature market, what would be different this time. I also think that it is not a good idea to start from what you already know, right? I believe that the Bible talks about pouring or attempting to pour new wine into old skins and how that just really makes a mess. And so personally, as the CEO of my company, I didn’t want to come into this year doing what we’ve always done and expecting it to produce the same result. Because that, my friend, is the definition of insanity. So instead, we did a lot of testing and we brought back in our business the Free Masterclass. Now, we had stopped doing free masterclasses many years ago because of the nature of our brand, because of our market positioning, we knew that we didn’t have to do free in order to get the conversion that we wanted to see in the marketplace. But because the market has shifted at the end of 2023, I wanted to test whether or not continuing down the path of paid Masterclass or relocating to free Masterclass was going to be different for us and if it was going to make a difference. And it did.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:10:49]:
So we realized that doing a free Masterclass with a VIP upgrade actually got us better results than doing a paid masterclass. Interestingly, what we started to see was that more people would actually upgrade to VIP when they had the choice versus those who wouldn’t maybe buy a seat at all when it was paid. The other thing that we recognized, because we were testing our advertising platforms, we were running ads on Facebook primarily in 2024. We did a little a Google Ads as well. And we know that when we’re running ads we’re getting colder traffic and colder traffic. I don’t want to say that they’re not likely to make an investment when they first come into your ecosystem, but it’s less likely. And so I wanted to give ourselves a chance to be able to grow our list and to get in front of some new people who would be new to our energy, our message and our way of doing things, but also create an environment for us to offset our advertising spend with the VIP upgrade. And it paid off.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:11:53]:

I knew that as I was testing I was going to have to detach from every outcome and not get bogged down, but to really look at what the data was telling me and to not make any assumptions as I was going through the process. Now that can be hard. It proved to be trying for us in some regard. So we did a lot of things. So we tested the traditional 90 minute webinar, we tested our version of a challenge.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:10]:
We did a three day event. We tested a series where we did an event every week for the month of July. Over the summer. We tested even some things that we did at our live event and things that we did in preparation of the live event in order to get the seats filled. All of the tests did not bode well for us and that’s okay. Because I was not attached to any specific outcome. And we still ended up having an amazing year. Now, this was not a year of massive growth for us as a company, which I’m totally okay with because it was a year of the test.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:48]:
So the reason why this is important, and especially for those of you who haven’t yet solidified what you’re doing in 2025, I want to speak to this for a few minutes, because every year of in your business is not a financial growth year. So we did experience growth, but we remained flat. 5% growth is what we experienced. Now, we typically grow by 20 to 30% every year, and some years we grow by over 50%. So this was not a high growth year financially, but it was an amazing growth year for me personally as a CEO, as a leader, and for some of the decisions and some of the things we began to walk out within the business. So one of the core important lessons that I want to leave with you as we go into 2025 is that all growth is not financial. You want to be able to evaluate where you are growing personally. How is your team’s skill set growing? Are they growing better? How is your culture being defined and growing? There are other ways to track growth in addition to your ability to experience an uptick.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:14:56]:
Right in any metric. And here’s the interesting thing. Although we did not have a we had a relatively flat year 5% growth, we experienced more profit than we ever have in the history of the business. Why? Because all growth is not financial. And some of our growth was about really making better decisions and leveraging the data to do the things that we need to do. So that made a difference for us this year. Another core lesson that came out of 2024 is the importance of leadership. Leadership is so important because business is boring.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:15:34]:
And once you know who you are, who you serve, how you serve them, and how to dial in the predictability of getting the results you want. Every time you start a new campaign, it’s going to get real boring real fast. But your ability to lead and to develop your team is what’s going to accelerate how your team shows up for you while you’re doing what it is that you’re doing. Another big lesson for me this year was the importance of capacity. I talk about capacity a lot more. I’m teaching my clients how to expand their capacity. Like your ability to achieve seven figures, I believe, is more about capacity than capability. We already know you’re capable because you’ve got a business that’s generating six and Multiple six figures a year, right? You can’t oops your way into a multiple six figure business.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:16:24]:
So there’s got to be some capability, something that you’re doing really well for you to generate 2, 3, $400,000 a year in your business. But in order for you to get to seven figures, it becomes more about capacity than it does capability. And capacity is at least twofold, maybe even threefold. Fold. One is your own personal inner game capacity. Do you even think bigger? Do you believe that seven figures is a lot of money? Because I need you to understand that money flows away from those who feel that there’s a shortage of it. And you putting a limit on money is going to cause it to flow away from you. So your own inner capacity, your money consciousness, your belief, your ability to regulate your nervous system.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:17:10]:
Do you realize that you cannot make money if your nervous system is not regulated and you do not feel safe? Safe. Some of the anxiety and overwhelm and burnout that you are feeling in your business is the reason why your sales have slowed. It has nothing to do with the market or the economy or who’s going to be in the White House come January. None of that. It is about your own personal capacity. And so I’ve recognized the significance of capacity and, and talking about it personally, your inner game. But let’s also talk about the capacity of your team. Because if we’re talking about skills, scaling, scaling really can only happen through people or processes.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:17:50]:
Scaling is the act of multiplying, replicating and duplicating a winning strategy that you know that if you are able to multiply, duplicate and replicate, it will produce more. You’ve got to have capacity for more. So that means you either have to have more people. Now some of you, you’re the CEO of your company and you’re also the lead or only service provider. That’s a problem. That’s a capacity issue, which means it’s going to be challenging for you to scale. There’s only so much you can do, no matter how many people you’re serving at one time, when you are the only one serving your clients right. Some of you are performing $20 administrative tasks that you should be paying someone else to do so that you’re free to do the $2,000 task.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:18:31]:
That’s a capacity issue because of the understanding and the significance of continuing to deepen and grow your capacity. The rate at which you have capacity is the rate at which you will accelerate your own move to millions. So that was a big lesson this year. I talked about this a minute ago, but the importance of regulating your nervous system. That was a big lesson for 2024 for me as well as for others. This year for me, the next lesson was that I didn’t have anything to prove. I do think that there is a role that knowing what your competitors are doing plays in your ability to grow your business. I do believe that some people take it too far and they watch their competitors too closely, which creates comparison and imposter syndrome and those types of things that mess with your inner game capacity, right? But recognizing that who you are, who you serve and how well you serve them already validates you.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:19:34]:
You don’t need it to know what anyone else is doing in order to be able to continue to do what it is that you’re doing. So this year for me was a year to recognize that I didn’t have anything to prove. Now, I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this on the podcast before, but it just hit my spirit. And so I’m going to I’m a middle child and I grew up in a household where there was a lot of ostracization of me as the middle child, as the gifted child. I got the whole, you think you’re better than us, you talk like a white girl, like all those things. I got all of that stuff and it constantly made me and sent me into a tailspin of comparison. And I always questioned if I was good enough and I would overcompensate, overwork, over compete, I would hustle, I would grind, I would do all the things to be demonstrative of the fact that I was actually worthy of occupying space here on earth. It was a traumatic upbringing, a traumatic realization even, that this was my thing, that comparison was my Achilles heel.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:20:41]:
Now I’ve since, through the help of my therapist, done a lot of amazing work around it. And this year I felt like I could finally stand boldly and flat footed in who I am with nothing to prove. I turned 49, y’all, and I don’t know how old you are as you listen to this show, but I’m telling you, as I inch closer to my half century mark, 2025 is my year of Jubilee. I will be 50 years old in 2025 and what I recognize when I look at my body of work. I remember when I used to attend this church, the pastor used to say, sometimes you just have to take a glance over your shoulder. Listen, when I glance over my shoulder, I am so grateful, I am so full. I have so much gratitude and I Am extreme expectant that that is just the tip of the iceberg. First Corinthians 2 and 9 comes into my mind.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:21:29]:
My eyes haven’t seen, my ears haven’t heard. Neither has it entered into my heart what God has for me because he loves me. And so today, as we go into 2025, yo, your girl ain’t got nothing to prove. So you will probably notice some shifts and changes in the way that I show up in the market because I don’t have anything to prove. And I’m fully convinced in my own mind that I know how to grow my business and generate it at the level that we are. As we continue to grow, our total portfolio is doing over eight figures a year. Listen, I’m good. I don’t have anything to prove.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:22:04]:
So that was a big lesson for me in 2024. Abundance is here right now. This was the year of what would abundance do? I normally have my what would abundance do bracelet on, but I took it off this morning and forgot to put it back on. What would abundance do? Abundance is here right now. There is no shortage of abundance. It’s here right now. And so operating from the paradigm that I am, abundance was huge for me this year. It’s what is going to send us into 2025.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:22:33]:
I’ll tell you what my word for 2025 is at the end of my lessons. I said this in the beginning as a part of my intro for those of you that might be listening for the very first time. But businesses with a spiritual foundation go farther, faster. That was so evident to me this year. And the reason why it was so evident is because I noticed so many more people rising up to share faith as a part of their business. And that is such a good sign because yeah, like honestly, your spirituality. We deepened the move to millions method and added in two additional pillars. So we went from strategy, sales, system, support success mindset to strategy, sales system, support success mindset, spirituality and self care because it is so important and it has to do with regulating your nervous system and realizing that abundance is here right now and being a strong leader and recognizing that you don’t have anything to prove.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:23:30]:
The more tapped in you are spiritually to your creator, the more you will show up big out in the earth realm. So that was a big lesson for me this year. Another thing that was really a big lesson this year is that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. That is a scripture. I believe it’s in Psalm. That was a big reminder this year there were so many things that played out. There are things that I’m doing now with my clients that I never thought I would ever do. They were part of my own personal practices and things that I did to keep my nervous system regulated, to expand my capacity that I’m now teaching my clients.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:24:09]:
And as a woman of faith, recognizing that God created everything, and there are many things that man tainted, but recognizing that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and it is about your come from and the energy that you operate in, that has been a game changer for me and for our clients. I’ve watched clients who came into 2024 with amazing businesses, but then all hell broke loose in their life. And as you know, I always say, you can’t have a booming business when you have a busted life. And they got stuck and stagnant and they were not moving and growing. And I believe God will give you more while you’re moving than he will if you stand still. And being able to leverage modalities, somatic modalities, to be able to support my clients and getting back into alignment has been a game changer. We watch clients go from not having sales for months to every single sale they’ve closed for the rest of the year has been a pay in full sale. All because of recognizing the significance of this holistic work that I’ve been called to do.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:25:14]:
So that was a big lesson this year. Another big lesson was embodiment, not effort. I was in the shower weeks ago, months ago, probably, when God said, effort won’t make the millions, embodiment will. And so I’ve been on this crusade to talk about embodiment and to show people what it means to embody and what it looks like, Based on Genesis 1 and 28, be fruitful and multiply. Game changer. This is an oldie, but a goodie and a lesson that just keeps being reinforced for me that God will let you live on whatever level you settle for. I decided in 2024 that I was not settling for anything. That’s why I lost £48.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:25:53]:
I’m like a whole new person. I lost £48 because my health was settling and it was no longer okay. I decided that I am worth it and I deserve to have an amazing vessel to support me to do the big work that God has called me to do. And so I started to discipline myself and take steps to make my vessel stronger. It’s amazing. A year ago, 198 pounds. Today, 150. Crazy.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:26:26]:
I got the best compliment ever When I went to the doctors to get my blood work repeated and my doctor said, I wish every patient who starts out like you are. High blood pressure, pre diabetic, high cholesterol, all of my numbers out of whack. He said, I wish every client who starts out like you did a year ago does what you’ve done. Over this last year, I decided that I am worth it and I decided to love me. I realized that self love, self care, which is why we expanded our move to millions methodology, it’s everything. Your health is your wealth. And so taking the time to focus on my own health and wellness this year, priceless. Worth anything else that I could have possibly done.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:27:19]:
So amazing. And then the last lesson of 2024 that I want to share with you now is I did a lot of detaching from the outcome. For me, it became less important about how we got there just as long as we did the things that we were supposed to do. So doing the work to stay focused and to stay in alignment, but leaving the results up to God. That’s from my favorite movie. Facing the Giants is the movie I give God something to bless. I believe God will give you more when you’re moving than he ever will if you stand still. So I’m always moving, moving in the direction, taking the next step I know to take, trusting that the how is God’s job and he will work it all the way out.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:28:07]:
And all I need to do is surrender. There’s that word again. And be present and embodied already acting as if in advance. The Bible says be speak those things that be not as though they were. And so all of these things that I’ve shared with you, all of these lessons have made a difference for me this year. And I am ready. I had to make a really tough decision at the end of the year. Had to have some courageous conversations this year.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:28:34]:
But I am ready for 2025 and I am ready for something big. Because something big is about to happen. Big is my word for 2025. Big. I mean, I have so many acronyms for big built in God being integrity, grace, believing in goodness. So many acronyms I could keep going. I am excited about the big, the bigness of who God called me to be. Before I was formed in my mother’s womb, God knew me and approved me and he gave me big work to do in the earth.

Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:29:16]:
And in 2025, you will watch me walk boldly and confidently into the bigness of all that it is that I’ve been called forth to do. I am so excited. I am so grateful. I cannot wait to see what God has for me again. First Corinthians 2 and 9. I know my eyes haven’t seen it. I know my ears haven’t heard it.
