And I'm gonna get into why hustle will make you rich, but it will probably still leave you empty. And I need you to know that if this episode stings a bit, it's because your soul is finally paying attention. Now, we've talked about identity, we've talked about conviction, and we just explore some of the sacred practices that stabilize your elevation and your ascension. But now we need to talk about what happens when you skip that work, when you hustle past your soul, and when you build from pressure instead of peace. Because I don't care what your stripe dashboard says, if your success was built from trauma, it's not wealth.

It's just survival with a fancy label. Oh, I probably should have told you I'm coming in hot this time. And the main reason is because here's what I want to be clear about. We are in a time and place where it has never been easier to grow a business to seven figures. Like, seriously. And I know you might be like, what, Darnyelle? Maybe we're not living in the same time, but no, it has never been easier to get your business to seven figures. We've had so many clients over the last couple of years, really double and triple their seven figure businesses in this market that we're in right now. And because it is so much easier to get there, it is also so much easier to hustle and grind your way there.

And I just want to say again for the record, that you can get to seven figures and you can do it without the sacrifice of your health and your wellness in the process. We're going to talk about the lie of legacy later because I've heard this one too. So so many entrepreneurs are still believing that they'll think about legacy once they've hit seven figures. I just need to do one more launch. I just need to have one more quarter. I just need one more hire and then I'll start Resting. I'll start thinking about my future. I'll get my trust.

Magazine, 72% of entrepreneurs report burnout within three years of hitting seven figures. And 65% say they lost connection to their original mission after scaling according to Harvard Business Review. I don't know about y', all, but that's not what I'm in it for. You thought money would make it easier, right? But money only amplifies what you have not yet healed. You don't find legacy on the other side of success. You lose it there. If you're not anchored in revenue, without spiritual rooting will always produce emotional bankruptcy. You'll have the money, but you won't have the meaning.

Because I want to make sure that we do it in a way that honors what God said when he released it. Let's talk for a few minutes about the five costs of legacy, less leadership. We'll talk about what you actually lose when you lead. Without thinking about legacy at the beginning, I think about the Stephen Covey to begin with the end in mind. And I'll be honest, y', all, when I started my business back in 2007, I was really just trying to make ends meet and to avoid living in my car. Even though I still ended up filing bankruptcy, I was not thinking about legacy. I was not thinking about the future. I wasn't even thinking about retirement.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:10:01]:
I was thinking about tomorrow. Okay. It didn't serve me, as evidenced by the bankruptcy. Right when I came back into the business full time in 2011, I became more legacy driven and focused and was really thinking about the next day and what would happen now. Of course, at that particular point in time, I thought my husband and I would have children, or when I got a husband, we'd have children. I didn't know we would have the complications that we had. I won't get into all of that. And no, I'm not fishing for you to slide in my DMs with your sympathy.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:10:33]:
It is well with my soul it is well with my soul All Right, that was a little sidebar, maybe not even necessary, but anyway, we went there. So we're going to talk about what happens when you actually don't lead. Thinking about legacy at the beginning. Number one, you burn out. And that burnout is actually masked as achievement. You think you are doing the darn thing. You don't rest, you collapse. Every launch leaves you drained, not energized.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:11:02]:
Your team celebrates while you're in the bathroom holding back tears and questioning what more you could have done in order to get to a different result. You're chasing something that you don't need to chase. When you're not legacy minded and focused. It's happens when you've confused achievement with alignment and your body is begging you to stop. Number two, you compromise your peace. You're always on. Your nervous system is stuck in hyper vigilance and you cannot exhale because deep down you think if you stop, everything will crumble. If your piece is the price of your platform, then you have already lost.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:11:39]:
Let me be clear. Number three, you'll experience wealth without fulfillment. Yeah, you'll be making money, but it won't feel like overflow. It'll feel like Biggie said, more money, more problems. You don't know what the money is for anymore. You don't know where it's coming from. All you know, it keeps going out and you feel no peace around it. The reason God Talked about money 2,300 times in the Bible more than he talked about heaven or hell, is because he wanted you to become a master of it, not the other way around.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:12:07]:

Number four, you'll experience identity confusion. You will shape shift depending on your audience code switching, as they call it. Right? You'll curate content based on what converts, not what's aligned. And you'll become a brand that you no longer recognize. If the public version of you is outperforming the private one, it's probably time for you to recalibrate. And number five, you'll experience legacy leakage. You've built something so tied to you that no one else can Carry it. Your business dies when your burnout peaks.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:09]:
Your family doesn't understand what you're building and neither do you. Because you've built an empire on exhaustion and now you're too tired to really live in it. That's a whole problem. One of the clients that we've worked with in this last year, before hiring me, they had a half a million dollar launch. Listen, I have a million dollar launch. Any day of the week is amazing. Except for when three weeks later, she found herself in the ER with chest pain and anxiety and extreme fatigue, dehydration. She had to get three different IVs just to get our hydration levels back.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:13:45]:
She built the entire thing on grind, on guilt, and on hustle. Her nervous system was shot, y'. All. Her joy was gone and her team was burnt out, too. When she got home from the hospital, that's when she reached out. We had discovery call and she ended up hiring me. Yes, there is a reason your strategy feels stalled. And I bet you didn't realize it's spiritual.

Number one, she was performing her business from ego, trying to prove that she was worthy of abundance. Oh, that is the wrong motivation. Once she aligned with Legacy, however, everything began to shift. She cut 40% of what she thought was required to grow her business. She instituted a weekly CEO Sabbath. She rebuilt her offer suite around peace. And in less than six months, she made more with less and smiled for the first time while she was in a launch. If what you are building cannot survive without your hustle, you are not building Legacy.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:15:46]:
You are building a prison. She wanted out of the prison. She wanted to find a way to grow the business substantially without all of the hustle. It has been amazing, literally watching everything change around her, how her business has grown massively. She's now got a multiple seven figure business business which we're so excited about for her. Listen, everything changes when you shift your come from. And I get it. Listen, I've been there too.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:16:14]:
Where my come from was less than desirable. It was based on scarcity and lack because I was trying to validate my existence. You know, unless this is your first time here, you've heard the story of 2014. When I finally crossed seven figures, I did it largely because I started charging what I deserved to charge for the services that I was rendering in the marketplace. Doubling and tripling my rates brought in triple the clients. That's literally what happened. And I did it not because I felt like it was my birthright. I did it because I was just trying to prove that I deserved to call myself a seven figure CEO.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:16:55]:
I have to be honest and tell you that I think that's a big part of the reason why I couldn't sustain it. I probably could have, but it, what I built was just a monster that I had to tear that thing down. And that's why we stepped back from seven figures only to come back in a way that was more aligned, that really served and supported who we are and who we desire to be in the world. And that changed everything. So now let's talk about if you have this leaking legacy that is possible. Let's talk about how you can plug that leak, how you can stop it from happening. Here's what I want you to understand. Legacy isn't perfection.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:17:31]:
It's positioning. So I want you to start with these recalibration questions. Number one, did I lead from peace or pressure this week or last week because this episode is running on a Monday? Number two, did I make that decision from alignment or ambition? And number three, if God were my coo, or better still your CEO, would he approve of how I moved today? Oh, those questions just gave me chills. I want you to let that sink in for a second and then I want you to declare with me if you don't like how you feel in asking yourself those questions, that you don't want to build something that drains you, that you actually want to build something that invigorates you, that warms your heart, that makes you feel warm and fuzzy, that you want to be kept by what you've created. That you truly desire to be a legacy led CEO. So let's go there. What is your current success costing your Soul. What has your business taken from you that you've never meant to give? And what rhythm, boundary or instruction have you been ignoring? I have chills right now as I'm recording this for you, because I want you to ask yourself these questions.
Darnyelle Jervey Harmon [00:18:53]:
This is the only way we get rid of the legacy leak and we actually put you in a position to build a business that honors you financially and spiritually without sacrificing your health, your wellness, your family, your faith, or your fun in the process. Right? So I don't want you to answer fast. I want you to sit with it. I want you to let your nervous system respond, not your mind. Uh oh. If you don't feel safe, if you feel tension in your body right now, it's because there's work that you need to do to shift everything. But I want you to get excited because it can, in fact, shift.
